USO Greater Los Angeles Area (USO-GLAA) is proud to serve those that serve and protect us by operating three USO centers in the southern California area. Our centers at LAX, Ontario International and Palm Springs airports provide important "touch of home" services to over 60,000 members of our military and their families each year.

The Bob Hope Hollywood USO at LAX is our anchor center and representative of the services provided at all our centers. It is named in honor of legendary entertainer and USO Ambassador of Goodwill, Bob Hope. For six decades, he brought the USO's famous "touch of home" and a string of smiles to millions of GI's often during their most difficult hours. Bob Hope will be remembered--from generation to generation--for the wonderful memories he and his Hollywood "band of gypsies" gave to U.S. troops through the years.

Our Bob Hope USO is the only USO facility in the world authorized to use the Hope name, and like our Ontario and Palm Springs centers, provides comfort and a "safe haven" to American troops and their families traveling to and from overseas and stateside assignments. The government funds none of our centers. They all rely on financial and "in-kind" support from you--individuals and business donors--who want to express their appreciation to our troops. At all three centers, our staff of dedicated and trained volunteers makes sure that these honored guests' experience "the Spirit of America" at its best.

It also means they have available for their exclusive use an array of facilities and services that include recreation areas, secure luggage storage, a theater with wide screen TV and a library of literally hundreds of current and classic films on DVD and video, a state-of-the-art Internet computer center, a fully-stocked free lending library, a well-equipped "Family Room" where children can relax and play games--or simply a place to take a nap. There are separate shower facilities for men and women, and a "quiet room" where exhausted troops are able to rest undisturbed for a few hours. Complimentary phone calls throughout the country on our "I-Freedom" telephone system allow our troops an opportunity to phone home during their visit.

It contains hundreds of books, including a major collection of "best seller" paperbacks with "free exchange" privileges. Current magazines and periodicals are also stocked in abundance. Tables and shade umbrellas are situated on the adjacent outside patio for troops to enjoy the southern California weather. All services at the Bob Hope Hollywood USO at LAX are provided to our valiant American warriors and their families without charge. For this, we thank and salute our sponsors and donors!
